From July 2025, validity of a vehicle identity check certificate will be extended to 2 years

Among the changes introduced by the amendment to road traffic laws is the extension of the validity of the vehicle identity check certificate from one to two years. This will align it with the validity period of the regular technical inspection.

According to Minister Kupka, this will reduce unnecessary bureaucracy when registering a change of vehicle owner or operator in the vehicle register. If a valid regular technical inspection has already been carried out, it will no longer be necessary to undergo a vehicle inspection for this purpose.
