Fasten your seatbelts! I’m driving just a little bit can kill you!

In the EU, 12,000 people a year die in car accidents just because they were not wearing their seat belts; in the Czech Republic, it is about 80 people a year.

In passenger cars, seat belts first appeared in series production as part of the car’s equipment on models from a Swedish car company as early as in 1959. Compulsory use of seat belts was not enacted in Czechoslovakia until 1967, and then only in the front seats and when driving outside a municipality. Since then, rules have been tightened around the world and seat belts have saved millions of lives since their invention.
