Simpler registration of historic vehicles

From 1 September 2023, it will be possible to register “vintage vehicles” not only at the offices pertinent according to a place of residence, but also at 14 offices of municipalities with extended competence in the seats of individual regions, and in Kolín. The time limits for testing the historical origin of vehicles and their technical condition will also be extended from 2 to 5 years. During the technical inspection at the technical inspection stations, the level of the automotive industry at the time the vintage cars were put into service will, of course, be taken into account.

Therefore, three basic categories have been created: vehicles produced before, during and shortly after the War (before 30 June 1953), post-war vehicles (1 July 1953 – 30 June 1972) and modern historic vehicles (produced after 1 July 1972),
