Change to the points system from 2024

📋The change in the points system will bring with it only 3 points rates, namely 2, 4 and 6 points, instead of the 5 points rates used so far. The new points system is intended simplify the system and make it clearer.

💰 For some serious offences, fines will increase by up to several thousand crowns in 2024. For minor offences, some penalties will be reduced. The increase will affect both on-the-spot fines as well as those that go into administrative proceedings.

🥃 For example, for refusing to take an alcohol test, a driver will pay up to CZK 75,000 in administrative proceedings instead of the current CZK 50,000.

📱 For using a mobile phone while driving, a driver will be fined up to CZK 10,000 instead of the current CZK 2,500 in administrative proceedings.

📱 The maximum on-the-spot fine for using a mobile phone while driving will increase from CZK 1,000 to CZK 3,500.
